Yeah. Am. Still tired too, not exhausted any more, but really tired. Trying to put all the different causes of stress and blues into mental boxes & seal them up... to open later, one at a time, with my counselor.
Box 1: News from my sis about a mutual friend's suicide. I am still in the stunned and sad stage. ::stuffs into a box and forces the lid closed::
Box 2: Tanya's BF & family are paranoid about not seeing Guy. ::stuffs in a smaller box with some extra paper for October::
Box 3: Post-event-letdown... Was just at a reunion with my dad and several of his compatriots from the 475th Fighter Group, all about 85-92 yo, will I see them again? Next reunion? A Planes of Fame Air Show? or not? It is tough. Close to them, to families.
Box 4: My left eyelid (bottom) is twitching and has been since Sunday. Feh!!!

So, close to tears a lot. Emailed my counselor to let her know what is up, she called with VM to tell me about the box idea... which is good and is helping.

Full day

I had a pretty full day today.  Just after midnight I posted a Happy Birthday to my sis on Facebook.  Visited my Chiropractor this morning and picked up a mocha (mmmm SF raspberry mocha w/1%) on the way back home.  Called about a printing estimate and called about a refund check that I hadn't expected.  Picked up the printing estimate (and delivered a mocha to my honey en route) and came back to write up a "proposal" to go with the estimate and the two others I had gotten last week.  Called an Assistance League friend and arranged to deliver to her the proposal & estimates.

Changed into dressier casual type clothes and put on make up, re-did my hair and headed to a retirement party for my last boss.  I haven't worked for the company for about a year, but I had been the Executive Assistant to this man before his Parkinson's started taking it's toll (he had to work less and they put someone else in charge).  He is probably one of the best Structural Engineers in the country and we were a good team.  I think every Architect in town showed up and there were civil and geological engineers there too.  Some construction types and some of his friends and family.  It was a great turn out.  They had a slide show going at one end of the room that cycled through many of the projects he had worked on throughout his career.  Amazing buildings, really... I mean this man had worked with Frank Lloyd Wright at one point and he's one of the foremost authorities on air-supported roof systems (i.e. BC Place which will feature prominently in the 2010 Olympics).  I knew almost everyone there from my days working with him.  It was great to visit with many of them and with all my old co-workers.  I was very impressed with it all and glad they "did it up in style" for him: Kris P. Hamilton, P.E. - may the next phase of your life bring you joy and serenity!

I stuck around with a friend to wait for the managers to come to lock up the building.  While we waited, I received a call from my sis.  Her day wasn't going as well as she had planned and was a little blue.  It didn't help that Santa Barbara is having a fire in the foothills with the big winds blowing.  She isn't in any danger, but the town is smoky and they are likely to lose electricity.  She said she and my dad were going to order Chinese food and hang out a bit.

Lots of emotion, reunions, running around in my day.  I am pooped.
